Stephen Molnar (Jan. 30, 1922 -- March 26, 2007)

LAPAZ -- Stephen Molnar, 85, of LaPaz, IN, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton, IN. He was born on January 30, 1922, in South Bend, IN, to Michael and Julia (Boktor) Molnar. On January 13, 1951, in LaPaz, IN, he married Phyllis (Swartz) Molnar, who survives. Mr. Molnar is also survived by three sisters, Judy Wiktorowski of Goshen, IN, Helen Ayers of Plymouth, IN, and Elsie Mroczkiewicz of South Bend, IN; one brother, Andrew Barna of Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sophie Tokay and Marge Houser; and six brothers, Lewis, Frank, Gene, Joe, Mike and John Molnar. Mr. Molnar served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was employed by the Studebaker Corporation and retired from AM General after 20-plus years of service. He loved his cat, Tiger, and his dog, Penny. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville, IN. Rev. Tina Velthuizen, pastor of the Church of the Holy Trinity, South Bend, IN, will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. today, March 28, 2007, in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Stephen Molnar may be made to the American Cancer Society, 601 W.
