Julia Etta Molnar
SOUTH BEND- Julia Etta Molnar, 95, of Rush Road died Thursday evening in her home. Mrs. Molnar retired from the University of Notre Dame. She was born July 4, 1894 in KisBarna, Hungary, and lived in South Bend for 75 years, coming from Hungary. In 1912, as 1912 Julia Bokter, she married Joseph Barna, who died in 1917. In 1918, in South Bend, she married Michael Molnar, who died in 1957. She is survived by five daughters, Sophie Tokay of Granger, Marge Houser and Judy Wiktorowski, both of Walkerton, Helen Ayers of Plymouth and Elsie Mroczkiewicz of South Bend; four sons, Andrew Barna of Austin, Texas, Louis and Frank Molnar, both of South Bend and Steve Molnar of LaPaz; 35 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mariska Kaksa of Byelovar, Yugoslavia. Four sons preceded her in death. Joseph Molnar died in 1948, John Molnar in 1949, Eugene Molnar in 1954, and Michael Molnar in I975. She was a member of the former St. Mary's Society of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will be In Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Published in the South Bend Tribune; Friday, Dec. 22, 1989.
