SOUTH BEND - Lucille J. Wroblewski, 89, residing in South Bend, passed away at 6:25 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's, less than two weeks after the passing of her dear husband, Richard. She was born May 8, 1926, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Frank and Lucille (Fitzgerald) Church, and was a graduate of Rosati-Kain High School in St. Louis. On June 16, 1956, in St. Louis, MO, Lucille was united in marriage to Richard E. Wroblewski, who preceded her in death on April 24, 2016, after almost 60 years of marriage. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Wroblewski of Los Angeles, CA, and Julie (Greg) Stroupe of Granger, IN; son, Richard (Chris) Wroblewski of Cincinnati, OH; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Wroblewski of Cleveland, OH. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kayla Hogan, Dalton and Emilee Stroupe, and Kolya, Polina, Sara, Casey and Camryn Wroblewski; and a cousin who was like a sister to her, Sr. Justine Church of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by one son, David Wroblewski, in June 2015, and one brother, Thomas Church.Lucille worked as a library clerk at the University of Notre Dame and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She volunteered at Christ Child Society, the Leighton Center and the College Football Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed golfing and traveling with Richard.Funeral services for Mrs. Wroblewski will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Graveside services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Wroblewski was a breast cancer survivor.
