SOUTH BEND - Richard E. Wroblewski, residing in South Bend, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's, at the age of 90.He was born April 16, 1926 in South Bend, the son of Jacob and Stella (Mroz) Wroblewski, and was a graduate of Central High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII from 1944-1946. On June 16, 1956 in St. Louis, MO, Richard was united in marriage to Lucille J. Church. He is survived by his loving wife Lucille of nearly 60 years. Also surviving are his two daughters, Mary Wroblewski of Los Angeles, CA and Julie (Greg) Stroupe of South Bend, IN; his son, Richard (Chris) Wroblewski of Cincinnati, OH; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Wroblewski of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kayla Hogan, Dalton and Emilee Stroupe, and Kolya, Polina, Sara, Casey and Camryn Wroblewski.Richard was preceded in death by his son, David Wroblewski in June 2015; and his sister, Virginia Pejza in 2014.He retired as an Industrial Photographer with the Bendix Corporation, where he was employed for 45 years. He was a freelance photographer for many local weddings, charity events, Special Olympics and the College Football Hall of Fame. He designed many of the programs for Notre Dame banquets as well. He was a member of the South Bend Press Club and Christ the King Catholic Church and was an avid golfer. Services for Mr. Wroblewski will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Graveside services and military rites will follow at Highland Cemetery.
