================

Katarzyna Waltanski (sic), 18, a Polish servant from Russia arrived in New York on Mar. 23, 1907 aboard the S. S. Pennsylvania. She was on her way to join her brother Felix A. in Scranton, Pennsylvania. (Passenger list)

On Jan. 11, 1908, Katerzyna Woltenski (sic?*) married Antoni Bargelski (sic) in New Castle County, Delaware. ("Delaware Vital Records," a card index, on familysearch.org)
*Most of her children's records indicate that her maiden name was Woltanski.

According to the 1910 census of Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware, Anthony Bargielski and his wife Katherine had both been born in Russian Poland, had immigrated in 1906 and 1907, respectively. They had been married two years. It was his second marriage, her first. She had had two children, one living, a daughter 5-months-old, born in Delaware.

By the time of the 1920 census, they were living in South Bend, Indiana, where Anthony was a molder at a plow works. They had six children (in birth order): Cyablwa/Christine born in Delaware; Vincent, Steve/Stanley, Helen, Joe, and John, born in Indiana. (That same year in April, i. e., after the census was taken, daughter Harriet was born. )

Katarzyna's age, date of death, and name of cemetery in which she was buried are in the records of St. Casimer's Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana.

Her date and place of death are given in her Indiana death certificate. Her husband was the informant. His understanding was that she had been born Dec. 2, 1888 in Poland to Fabijan & Ros (Szericouna) Wollynski (sic).
