WALKERTON - Charles H. Barko, 89, of Walkerton, Indiana, was called home to God on 10/27/17. He was born on November 14, 1927, to the late John and Agnes Barko. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria (King); daughters, Deborah Ellen (Jim) Millice and Lori Mae Barko. Loving father of Lisa M. (Tom) Mencke of Homewood, IL, John C. (Gretchen) Barko of Watervliet, MI, Fr. Robert Barko, OFM, of St. Francis Parish, Quincy, IL; brother of John Barkowski; cherished grandfather of Lauren Bjorklund, Jack E. (Lizzy) Moerman, Andrew (Ruthie) Barko, Charles (Callie) Barko, Katherine Barko, Michael (Shereen) Mencke, Todd Mencke; ten great-grandchildren; and uncle, dear friend and counselor to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights, IL 60463, on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
