Mrs. Eleanor F. Amon, 76, of the Carlyle Nursing Home, died there at 1:30 a.m. today after an extended illness. She was born on Jan. 29, 1906, in South Bend and lived here all her life. On July 16, 1938, in Goshen, she married Fred H. Amon, who died on Aug. 6, 1959. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Cora Mrozinski, Mrs. Stephanie Hoover and Mrs. Gladys Nordin, all of South Bend, and a brother, Edmund Martin of South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Eleanor Mnichowski and Fred Amon married on July 16, 1938 in Goshen, Elkhart Co., Indiana. Fred, born Nov. 8, 1896 in Berrien Co., Michigan, son of George and Alice Weaver Amon, was a clerk residing in Detroit, Michigan. Eleanor, born Jan. 28, 1906 in South Bend, Indiana, daughter of Stanley Mnichowski, was a resident of Goshen, Indiana. It was her first marriage and his second, his first having ended in divorce.
