Katherine is daughter to Stephen Farkas and Katherine (Radics) Farkas and grandaughter to Alexander and Anna (Maczki) Farkas. Both her parents and grandparents were born in Hungary. She has five siblings, Irene, Stephen, Louis, Joseph and Julius Farkas.

Services for Mrs. Katherine E. Szucs , 67, of Rt. 3, New Carlisle, who died at 10:50 a.m. Monday at LaPorte Hospital after a lengthy illness, wil be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the H. C. Amen and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was a retired processor from the Sun Acre Fruit Farms. Born on June 3, 1914, in South Bend, she had lived here most of her life, moving to New Carlisle 26 years ago. On April 3, 1937, in Michigan City, she married Geza Szucs. He survives, along with a daughter, Mrs. Rose Irk of Michigan City; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two brothers, Julius Farkas of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Steve Farkas of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
