Antonio P. "Tony" Macri

MISHAWAKA - Antonio "Tony" P. Macri, 67, passed away at 4:10 pm Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in his residence surrounded by his loved ones. Tony was born on February 12, 1945 in Reggio Calabri Siderno Marina, Italy to Francesco and Maria (Nicolleti) Macri. He was employed as a roofer and also worked in the family restaurant. Antonio was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, was a friend to everyone and had a heart of gold. Surviving are his wife, Sheila Williams Macri; daughter, Michelle (Fabian) Guzman of Mishawaka; three sons, David Macri of South Bend, Mark Macri of Osceola, and Edward Macri of Mishawaka; 6 grandchildren, Aiden, Triston, Cece, Arianna, Anthony, and Ethan; two sisters, Rosa Macri and Maria (Frank) Lizzi both of South Bend; and 4 brothers, Edward (Catherine) Macri of Australia, Dominic (Francesca) Macri, Nick (Margaret) Macri and Salvatore (Tammy) Macri all of South Bend. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Cosimo Macri. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, September 24, 2012 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Family and friends may call Sunday from 2:00-8:00 pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation, Fallen Veterans or MDA.
