Stella Victoria Cordes, 75, of Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, formerly of West Elwood Avenue, died at 10 p. m. Sunday in the nursing home. Mrs. Cordes
retired from Acme Cleaning Services, working at the Sherland Building. She was born Sept. 30, 1919 in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On June 18, 1938, in South Bend, as Stella V. Gabrysiak, she married Roy Omer Cordes at St Mary's PNCC she married Roy O. Cordes. Witnesses at marriage, Norman C. Cordes and Frances Cordes. He died Nov. 24, 1990. She is survived by a sister, Josephine Gabrysiak of South Bend; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be at 9 a. m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p. m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. (Obit: South Bend Tribune, Feb. 13, 1995)
