SOUTH BEND - Ronald S. Pawlak, 78, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013, in his residence surrounded by his family. Ronald was born July 23, 1935, in South Bend, to the late Steve and Mary (Zarobinski) Pawlak. On June 28, 1958, in South Bend, Ronald married Jerry Omega (Yates) Pawlak, she survives along with their twin daughters, Theresa Lynn (Greg) Dewald and Tammy A. Ricci, all of South Bend; sons, Ronald "Butch" A. (Melanie) Pawlak of West Hills, CA, and Randy S. (Michelle) Pawlak of South Bend; grandchildren, Jena, Garrett, Anthony, Ross, Lilly, Jordan, Kristin, Hope and Sean; great-grandchild, Carson Gregory; sister, Darlene Ewald; brother, James "Jimmy" D. Pawlak; nieces, Heather, Nicole and Dawn; nephews, Daryl and Derek, and many more. Ronald honorably served his country in the United States Army; he served as an E4 during the Korean War. He was employed with the South Bend Water Works and retired from AM General as an Inspector after 30 years of service. Ronald was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, enjoyed fishing, music, the lake cottage, classical country music, and most of all spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Visitation for Ronald will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, September 29, 2013, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, September 30, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer & Dementia Services, 922 E. Colfax, South Bend, IN 46617; or to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.
