Mrs. Stella Czarnecki, 84, formerly of 1215 Thomas, died at 9:35am Sunday in the Cardinal Nursing Home after a year’s illness. She lived with her son, Leo Czarnecki, of 2615 Frederickson. Services will be at 10am Thursday in St Stephen’s Catholic Church. Msgr. Elmer G. Peterson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and 3 to 9pm Wednesday in the St Joseph Funeral Home where a parish wake service will be at 7pm Wednesday. She was born on September 30, 1892, in South Bend, Mrs. Czarnecki lived here her lifetime. As Stella Lisek, she married Adam Czarnecki, who died in 1964. Also surviving are another son, Anthony of South Bend; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a brother, Casimer Lisek of South Bend. Mrs. Czarnecki was a member of the Polish Women’s Alliance; the Grandmothers Club and the Ladies Civic Club of ST Hedwige’s Church and the auxiliary of Haller’s Post 125.
