Elizabeth "Liz" E. Torok, 87 years old, residing at the Sanctuary at St. Paul's, South Bend, passed away on Friday evening, October 18, 2013 at St. Paul's. Mrs. Torok was born on February 19, 1926 in Tyner, IN to the late Domitian and Eva Guseilla. She has lived in South Bend since August of 1952. On June 4, 1949 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth, she married Albert E. Torok who preceded in death on June 21, 2010. Three sisters, Victoria Guseilla, Ann Baumann, and Vera Dudek; and two brothers, George and Dimitru Guseilla, all preceded in death. Mrs. Torok is survived by her two daughters, Rosemary T. Torok of South Bend and Patty (Charlie) Davis of Oak Grove, MO; one son, Albert "Jr" (Irene) Torok of Carmel, IN; four grandchildren, Erich A. Torok of Ohio, Stephanie M. (David) Horne of Ohio, Kyle P. Torok of Ohio, and Adam (Dayna) Davis of Missouri; and two sisters, Margaret Winstead of Chicago, IL and Eva Guseila of Ohio. Mrs. Torok is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Torok was a faithful member of St. Matthew Cathedral where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. She graduated from the St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1947. Mrs. Torok retired as a Registered Nurse with St. Joseph Hospital and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend in 1988 after forty one years of employment. She was a member of the St. Joseph Nurses Alumni. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami Street, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in Plymouth. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, October 21, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Contributions in memory of Elizabeth E.
