Clara Ann Schnabel, 86, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 2:24am Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Creekside Village, Mishawaka, Indiana. Clara was born on June 27, 1934 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Simon and Elizabeth (Szabadi) Ganser and lived in this area most of her life. Clara is survived by her three sons, Tony Schnabel of South Bend; Jeff Schnabel of St. Joseph, Michigan, his children, Lindsey, Lauren and Nicholas, and their mother, Janmarie; and Greg (Bridget) Schnabel of South Bend and their children, Kaitlyn and Kylie. Clara is also survived by three sisters, Helen (William) Poure of Fort Wayne, Dorothy Mady of Jacksonville, Florida and Irene McNulty of Mishawaka; her brother, Albert (Maddy) Ganser of Middlebury; and her brother-in-law, Larry Aulbach of Hartford City. One sister, Julia Aulbach preceded her in death. Clara was self-employed as a redecorator and landscaper. Clara was a lover of life. She never met a person who wasn’t instantly her friend and at the expense of her children, they would know every embarrassing detail. Lol. She loved Bingo and has the loot to show she was a winner. Our Mom was the best Mom a boy could ask for and most of our friends would claim a spot as an adopted son. Rest in peace Mom, you deserve it. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00-10:30am Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd., South Bend. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, IN.
