Melvin Michael Savko Melvin Michael Savko, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005. A service of remembrance will be at 2 p.m. EST Sunday at Beggs Funeral Home Apalachee Chapel (850- 942-2929). Memorial contributions may be made to Rum Village Nature Center, 2626 S. Gertrude St., South Bend, IN 46614. A native of Baltimore and former resident of South Bend, he had lived in Tallahassee for the past five years. He was employed with Bendix Brake Co. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 284 in South Bend. He also was an avid gardener. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Virginia Savko; two sons, Robert Michael Savko of South Bend and Michael Frank Savko of Tallahassee; two daughters, Janet Reed (and husband Daryl) and Pat Schei, both of Tallahassee; three nieces; two nephews; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
