Born on November 23, 1940 in Warsaw, Indiana, Joan was the daughter of Dillard and Bessie Wilma Arlene (Parrish) Masterson. She would marry Jack Monteleone on May 23, 1959 in Plymouth, just a few days before her graduation from West High School. They would raise their family in Argos. Joan worked as a nurse's aide at Parkview Hospital for 15 years and as a teacher's aide in the life skills class for 18 years. Her students brought her much joy. Joan adored her family and many lifelong friends. She could be found cooking and being crafty in her fun creations. She was an avid rock collector, from all over the U.S. She also loved to travel, her longest trip being a 13,000-mile trip to Alaska. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Monteleone of Plymouth, her son, Michael Monteleone of Everett, WA, and her son, Richard (Dara) Monteleone of Conroe TX; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Suzanne (Jim) Parker and Larry Masterson. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Bud Masterson, and twin sister, Jean Flosenzier. Due to the current pandemic, the family will have graveside services on Wednesday January 6, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the New Oak Hill Cemetery with Fr. Spenser St. Louis officiating.
