SOUTH BEND - Henrietta Gluchowski, 91, of South Bend, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013, in her home. She was born on April 13, 1922, in South Bend, to the late Walter and Eleanor Malicki, and was a lifelong area resident. On April 25, 1942, as Henrietta Malicki, she married Stanley Gluchowski, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2005. Also preceding her in death were a son, Thomas; a granddaughter, Tina Craig; two sisters, Margaret Leda and Geraldine Niemier; and a brother, Leonard Malicki. Henrietta is survived by her son, John Gluchowski of South Bend; four grandchildren, John Jr. (Sandy), Mark (Debbie), Jackie and Jessica Gluchowski; seven great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brandon, Jacob, Morgan, Ryan, Tanner and Jason. Mrs. Gluchowski retired from Wells Electronics in 1979 after over 10 years of service. She was parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church and an auxiliary member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm today, September 11, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm.
