ELKHART - Frances L. DeBoni, 92, of Elkhart, died Friday, February 24, 2017 at Hubbard Hill Retirement Community. Frances was born in Lafayette, Indiana on February 23, 1925, the daughter of Hobart and Marie (Muinzer) Grandstaff. On October 12, 1948, she married James DeBoni in Lafayette, Indiana. He died June 19, 2015. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Mary Alice Kaiser. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Micheline LeBlanc) DeBoni of Ft. Myers, Florida; and her daughters, Dianne (Lee) Heyde of Warsaw, Indiana, Sarah (Tom) Misener of Elkhart, Indiana, Patricia (Radamee) Orlandi of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Julie (Bradley) Newhouse of Ithaca, New York, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Frances was employed by Kaiser Aluminum, Lafayette, Indiana prior to marriage. As a homemaker, she devoted her time to creating a loving home for her husband and five children. Upon retirement, she and her husband enjoyed calling Fort Myers Beach home, where she enjoyed socializing with neighbors in Cinnamon Cove, and hosting family members who vacationed in Florida. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, and for an hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Father Zak Barry officiating. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Hubbard Hill Retirement Community, 28070 CR 24, Elkhart, Indiana 46517.
