SOUTH BEND - Irene M. Snyder, 96, formerly of W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, currently of the Sanctuary at Saint Paul's for the past three years, passed away on Tuesday, October 13th, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Irene was born on April 18, 1913, in Mishawaka, to Adolph and Elodie (Daniels) Buysse. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Alphonse Buysse and Rene Buysse; a sister, Marie Kaiser; and a son-in-law, Don Brothers. On April 7, 1934, in Mishawaka, as the former Irene Buysse, she married Winfred Snyder, who preceded her in death on January 14, 2004. Surviving are a daughter, Winifred Brothers of Mishawaka; a son, Frederick (Tara) Snyder of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Sharon (Jim) Potter, William Brothers, James Brothers and David Brothers, all of Mishawaka, and Kimberly (Kevin) Watt and Karrie Snyder, both of Chicago; and four great-grandchildren. Irene was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka. She had worked for Uniroyal for a short time. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren meant so much to her; they were the bright spot in her day. There will be a private family service at Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum, Mishawaka, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
