Resided at 931 W Lasalle avenue; was a retired city policeman who would have been 72 years old today, died at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in his home following a heart attack. He had suffered a similar attack a year ago and had been ill the last 2 months. He was a familiar figure on the west side until he left the force a decade ago. In recent years, due to formation of cataracts, he was losing his eyesight. Born in Poznan Poland 12-13-1862, he came to South Bend from that country 50 years ago & worked at first as a moulder in the Studebaker corporation factory. He was appointed to the police force 11-17-1897, & resigned 4-24-1900. About 8 yrs later, 1-2-1908, he was reappointed and served until retired on disability pension 5-1-1924. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Anna, nee Nowak, whom he married 9-26-1886 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church at Terre Coupe, IN.,; 6 children: Joseph, Mrs. Clara Klysz, Mrs. Mary Przezdzienkowski, Vincent Jr., a druggist, Mrs. Josephine Zbieranski and Michael; 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Services at St. Hedwig Catholic Church; Burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
