ACWORTH, GA - Mr. James Thad “Jim” Laskowski, 67, of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Jim was born in South Bend, Indiana on August 19, 1953 to the late Vera Goheen Laskowski and Thaddeus Laskowski. Mr. Jim graduated from Indiana University with a Biology degree. Some of his hobbies include playing golf, boating, music, and Hoosier basketball. He was a member of the Governor's Towne Club and the Brookstone Golf and Country Club. He collected guitars and played in the praise band at St. Clare of Assisi Catholicl Church, where he was a faithful member. He was also involved with the church Knights of Columbus. He and his family especially enjoyed spending time in the summer at their lake home in Michigan, boating and water skiing. Mr. Laskowski was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, dog dad, and friend to all who knew him. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Kathleen ‘Kathy' Luczkowski Laskowski; daughters, Kelley and her husband Allan Edwards of Acworth, Georgia and Katie Laskowski of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Jeanne and her husband Mike Kovatch of New Albany, Indiana, and Joanne and her husband Kent Fortson of Lexington, Kentucky; and two grandchildren who knew their grandfather as Dzia Dzia, Madeline and Spencer Edwards. A visitation for Jim will be held Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Pkwy, NW, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A Rosary will occur Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 6:30 PM during the visitation. A Funeral Mass will occur Monday, February 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 6301 Cedarcrest Rd., Acworth, GA 30101. There will be an additional visitation and Funeral service on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM in the Kaniewski Funeral Home chapel. A burial will occur at Riverview Cemetery, 2300 Portage Avenue, South Bend, IN following the service on Saturday, February 13, 2021.
