Alex R. Niezgodski, 71, of 1949 Berkley Place, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Hospital. He was a plumbing contractor for the Niezgodski & Sons Plumbing Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1966. Then he was a city plumbing inspector for six years. Retiring in 1972. He was born June 31, 1905 in South Bend, where he lived his lifetime. On Jan. 29, 1946, in South Bend, he married Lottie Nowicki, who survives, with three sons, Alex Jr., and Donald, both of South Bend, and William of Marion; 14 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Konya and Mrs. Margaret Lamenski, both of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Rev. William J. Neidhart, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Entombment will be at Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Niezgodski was a member of Nest No. 4 of the Z.B. Falcons and the Plumbers Assn. Of Indiana.
