GRANGER - Clara T. Beitler, 98, of Granger, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Sanctuary at Holy Cross. She was born June 15, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Maryann (Gregorek) and Stanley Wlodarek. On October 28, 1939, she married William S. Beitler, who preceded her in 1983. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Christine McDonald, and siblings, Alice, Lillian, Tony, Matt, Clem, Frank, Casimer and Sylvester. Clara is survived by daughters, Barbara Szymczak of Lakeville, Catherine Paege (Gary) of Flower Mound, TX, and son, James M. Beitler (Paula) of Granger; five grandchildren, Dawn, Glenn, Shelly, Cortney and Kristen; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Brandon. Clara was a member of St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and a former member of the American Turners. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 16th, in the Welshemer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd. Committal services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may visit with the family on Monday in the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of the services.
