SOUTH BEND - Gwendolyn Y. Kruszewski, 94, formerly of the Westside Ardmore area for over 54 years, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017, in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Gwendolyn was born March 16, 1923, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late James and Edith Trusty.. She married Joseph Kruszewski, who preceded her in death. Gwendolyn was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry & David Kruszewski; and grandsons, John & Keith Kruszewski. Survivors of Gwen include her sons, Richard (Carol) Kruszewski of Indianapolis, Robert (Maryalice) Kruszewski of Elkhart, and Daniel (Cathy) Kruszewski of Mishawaka; Larry's spouse, Paula Kruszewski of State College, PA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gwen retired from Washington High School where she worked in food services for 10 years. She had attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She loved animals, listening to classical music, and was an avid reader. Gwen especially enjoyed cooking her Polish meals for her family and holiday get-together. Her biggest joy was raising her five sons and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation for Gwen will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., with a Funeral Ceremony to begin 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
