Lois Evelyn (Higgins) Claeys
December 31, 1927 ~ October 22, 2021 (age 93)
On Friday October 22nd at 1:57am Lois Evelyn Claeys took her last breath and stepped into eternity with her Jesus! Lois was born in Waterloo, Alabama on December 31st, 1927, to Donald and Tisha Higgins On June 27, 1947, she married Clarence (Casey) Claeys and they were married for many years before he passed in 1993. Together they had 3 children, Beverly (Mike) Brown, Michael (Toni) Claeys Joanna (Steve) Taylor. 11 Grandchildren Matthew Brown, Todd Brown, Jacob Brown, Shauna Brown, Shayla Brown Alex Claeys and Emily Garrett Garth Taylor, Casie Brothers-Jimenez, Hannah Taylor and step granddaughter, Stefanie Ginther 26 Great-Grandchildren 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren Our mom was such a special sweet woman with a beautiful heart and smile! She had the best sense of humor and loved to laugh…so many people would comment on her laugh! She loved her family and her friends dearly! Her favorite sayings were “whatever will be will be”, “I feel more like I do now than I did” and “it’s a great life if you don’t weaken” And she didn’t weaken while she fought cancer and the beast of dementia for 12 years. Though that stole so much from her she never lost her love for her children or her sense of humor. She will truly be missed! Graveside Service will be Tuesday October 26th at Chapel Hill in Osceola IN. at 1:00 in the afternoon. Flowers may be sent Hahn’s Funeral Home. We want to thank each one of the staff members at Brookdale Granger that loved her the past 4 years and the team at The Ernestine M. Raclin Hospice House - Center for Hospice Care for their unbelievable compassionate care for her in her last hours…. We will be forever grateful! To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Lois Evelyn (Higgins) Claeys, please visit our floral store.
