MISHAWAKA - Steven Sirok, 94 years old, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 12:55 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN. Steven retired in 1983 from Dodge Manufacturing after 20 years of service. He previously worked at Bendix, Singer Sewing Machines and Farmer's Market. Steven was born on January 6, 1922 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late John and Mary (Prushick) Sirok. On September 14, 1942 in Mishawaka, Indiana he was married to Marjorie L. (Coon) Sirok. Then on June 2, 1964 in Mishawaka, Indiana Steven was united in marriage to Beverly J. (Walker) Tourjee Sirok at First Church of God, Mishawaka, IN. Steven is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly Sirok; four daughters, Sheryl L. Kennedy and Margi (Pete) Vargo both of Lakewood, Colorado, and Beverly (Don) Anglin and Penny (Rich) DeBoe both of Mishawaka; and three sons, James S. Sirok of Saipan, Mariana Islands, Mark (Melissa) Sirok of South Bend and John (Susan) Tourjee of Lakewood, Colorado; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. One great granddaughter, Jessica Miller; his sister, Mary Solbrig; and three brothers, Peter, Andrew and John Sirok all preceded Steven in death. Steven was a graduate of Mishawaka High School. He served in the United States Army Air Forces in China Burma India Theaters during World War II and a member of American Legion CBI.Steven was a founding member of the First Church of God on Mishawaka Avenue, which started the Michiana Community Church of God, Granger. He previously sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. He served as an Eagle Scout Master. Steven made violins for 25 years and was a member of Guild of American Luthiers and the National Wood Carvers Association. Steven was very artistic. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 6, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Pastor Greg Crump and Pastor Denver Burns will be sharing. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, IN.
