Erwin J. Smogor

Private services have been held for Erwin J. Smogor, 73, of Cedar Rapids IA, formerly of South Bend, who died April 12 in his home. Cremation has taken place. Kuba Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, handled arrangements. Graveside services will be later in Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. Smogor retired from Clemens Trucking Co and the University of Notre Dame. He was born October 27, 1914, in South Bend and moved to Cedar Rapids in 1985. On September 2, 1939, in South Bend, he married the former Julia Sinka, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Sharon Smogor of Cedar Rapids; a son, Paul A. of Toronto; a granddaughter; a great grandson; and a sister, Hildagard Przestwor of South Bend.
