Funeral services for Oscar Emil Strasser, 94, Winamac, were held Saturday. He died at 10:50 p.m. August 15 in Miller Merry Manor, Culver, where he had resided since Sept. 8, 1982. Born April 29, 1890 in Chicago, he was the son of Fred and Mary Strasser and resided most of his life in the Pulaski County area. He married Verda W. Davis on October 31, 1915 in Star City, who preceded him in death December 2, 1979. He retired after 22 years as a Winamac Town Marshal, was former owner of Riverside Grocery and a former employee of United Telephone Company. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Indianapolis, and the Star City Christian Church. Survivors include: three daughters, Margaret L. O'Blenis, South Bend, Violet F. Wolfram, Lakeville and Carole M. Way, Largo, Fla; two sons, Wayne and Richard "Barney" Strasser, both of Winamac; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. One son, Robert E., preceded him in death.
Kenneth Broad and Rev. Larsene Hall officiated at the services and burial was in McKinley Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lions Park Fund.
