Born November 30, 1927 in South Bend, Indiana Son of the late Harry and Josephine Brekrus. Loving husband of 65 years to Theresa “Terry” Brekrus (nee Hausladen) Loving father of Barbara (Tom deceased) Morrow, Bernie J. (Karla) Brekrus and Mary Beth (Mike) Mansfield. Cherished grandfather of Kim, Bernie Jr., Karen, Angie, Tom, Gene, Theresa, Rachael, Melanie and great-grandfather of 9. Brother of the late Eugene Brekrus. Bernie served in the US Army (1950-1952) in Japan and Korea. He was a member of American Legion Post 338, VFW Post 2866, and St. Louis Bayern VereinBernie enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling and trips to the casino. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Visitation 4-8pm Thursday December 28, at Jay B.
