Sister Mary Prospera CSC, of the Sisters of Holy Cross died Sunday morning at the St. Mary's Convent after a lengthy illness. She was born as Ladislava Kreczmer, the daughter of Martin Kreczmer and Frances Rozplochowska of South Bend, and prior to becoming a nun she attended St Hedwige School. Sister Prospera received the habit of the congregation in 1906 and made her profess of final vows in 1911. She had been assigned during her community life to St. Hedwige and St. Joseph Grade Schools, St. Joseph Hospital and teaching positions at schools in Elkhart, Plymouth and Anderson, Ind., and Chicago, Danville, Harvard and Morris, Ill. She retired in 1955 because of illness.
A requiem high mass will be offered at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary's. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
