Loving husband, father, and grandfather, Leslie “Les” Toth, 82, of South Bend died at 5:35 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 in Hospice House of South Bend surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Toth was born March 9, 1929 in Papa, Hungary to the late Ilona and Istvan Toth and had lived in the Michiana area since 1956. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Page and his first wife, Gizella. On August 27, 1977 in South Bend he married Judy Kozakiewicz who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Sue Jackson (Tom) Wauconda, IL and Kimberly Workman (Donnie) of South Bend; sons, Peter Toth (Judy) of Coloma, MI and Eric Toth (Beckie) of St. Joseph, MI; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Maria Windish of Austin, TX and Helen Kovacs (Paul) of South Bend; and son-in-law, Stephen Page of San Antonio, TX. Les graduated from college in Hungary with a degree in civil engineering. He retired in 1991 as a product designer in the engineering department of the Whirlpool Corporation after 33 years. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where he served as an usher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 16th at Christ the King, 52473 State Rd. 933, South Bend. Cremation will take place at Welsheimer Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 4220 Edison Lakes Pkwy, Mishawaka, IN, 46545-1440. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd. is assisting the family with arrangements. Family and friends may leave e-mail condolences at www.welsheimer.com.
