SOUTH BEND - Ronald M. Plencner, 75, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 6:40 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015, in the Golden Living Center-Foutainview. Ronald was born on March 30, 1939 in South Bend to Sylvester and Rosalie K. (Dembinski) Plencner. He had been employed as a salesman for most of his working career. Ronald had been employed with Belville Tile, Detrex Chemical, Customation Technology, and Hallmark Realty. He retired from the City of Michigan City and then worked as a dealer at the Blue Chip Casino. Ronald is survived by his longtime companion, Joyce Corwin; his daughter, Rachel Plencner of Denver, Colorado; his son, Robert (Rachele) Plencner of Elkhart, Indiana; two grandchildren, Brandon and Kelsey Plencner; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Gunden; and one sister, Cathy Thompson. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 16, 2014 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Ronald served in the United States Marines from 1957-1963. He was a member of the Jerry Kurdys Polka Band. Ronald enjoyed polka dancing, golfing, bowling, and fishing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors. To send online condolences, please visit kaniewski.com.
