SOUTH BEND - Jeanne A. Gorzynski, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012, in The Milton Home, South Bend. She was born to the late Edward P. and Helen (Nowak) Gorzynski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with her parents, her sister, Dorothy A. Gorzynski, and her brother, Raymond Gorzynksi also preceded her in death. Jeanne graduated from St. Casimir Grade School, South Bend Catholic High School, and South Bend College of Commerce, where she earned an Associates Degree. She worked at Studebaker for many years as an executive secretary. She finished her career as a secretary to Bishop Crowley at St. Matthew Cathedral. Jeanne is survived by her niece, Elaine (John) Maimone of Henderson, NC; great-niece, Lea Maimone; great-nephew, Mike Maimone; nephew, Gery (Lacey) Gorzynski of South Bend; great nephew, David (Jennifer) Gorzynski; and great-great nephew, Jerrod Gorzynski. Jeanne was a member of Sacred Heart Parish at Notre Dame. Previously she was a parishioner at St. Casimir Parish and St. Matthew Cathedral. She maintained her loyalty to Notre Dame as a football season ticket holder since the 1950s. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Sunday, August 19, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am Monday, August 20, 2012, in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame, with Rev. Thomas Jones, C.S.C. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Association, P.O.
