Genevieve Jean Buziak

Genevieve (Jean) Dyskiewicz of Kalamazoo, MI, formerly of South Bend, IN peacefully passed away after a short and unexpected illness. She was born in South Bend on December 1923, the daughter of Blanche and Alex Buziak. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Dyskiewicz, her brothers, Bernard, Clement and Valentine. Genevieve graduated from Washington High School in 1942. During World War II she was a Red Cross nurse’s aide. She was involved in St. Adalbert’s Church Rosary Sodality, St. Stanislaus Church Rosary Sodality, a member of St. Stanislaus Sister’s Auxiliary, and a member of UAW. Genevieve was employed by J.C. Penny’s and retired from the Bendix Corporation. Genevieve married Walter S. Dyskiewicz on July 22, 1946. She is survived by her sister, Rita Tarr and her brother, Chester (Maria) Buziak. She is also survived by two sons, Carl (Jane) Dyskiewicz of San Diego, CA and Paul (Pat) Dyskiewicz of Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Palmer, Karen (James) Atkinson, Christopher (Jessica) Dyskiewicz; great-grandchildren, Andrew Palmer and Ben Palmer, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Special appreciation to Rose Arbor Hospice for the loving care given to Genevieve during her final days. Visitation for Genevieve will be 9:00am to 10:30am on Saturday, December 18, 2021 in ST, JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00am in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Entombment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
