Richard “Dick” Dill, also known as Pickle, 80 of North Liberty passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 18, 2017 in Bremen, IN. He was born on January 13, 1937 in South Bend to the late Emil and Mabel (Snyder) Dill. Dick was a lifetime resident of North Liberty, retiring from Lonzo Oil Company, North Liberty in 1986 after many years of service as a Truck Driver. On August 31, 1956 in North Liberty, IN he married Roberta “Birdie” Lonzo who survives. Dick is also survived by his children, Rusti (Kevin) Chlebowski, Rhonda (Walter) Cole, Rami (Lori) Dill and Robert Dill all of North Liberty; nine grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren all whom he loved and cherished. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul W. Dill. Dick loved watching Western Movies, going fishing, camping and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the SAL American Legion Post 365, North Liberty and a former member of the YMCA Indian Guide. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, whom will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at State Road 23/W. Ireland Road, South Bend. Burial will take place at a later date at Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. The family request memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Post 365, 309 Reed Street, North Liberty, IN 46554. The Hanley and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service handled arrangements, services and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Dill family.
