Okeechobee, FL- Dorothy Sabade, 89, formerly of Mishawaka, passed away on Sunday January 23 in Hamrick Home, Okeechobee, FL. Dorothy was born on October 14, 1921 in Mishawaka in Henry and Madeline (Van Den Borre) Van Hoecke. On June 13, 1942 at St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka as the former Dorothy Van Hoecke she married Stephen Sabade who preceded her in death along with her parents; two sisters, Elsie Popealski and Lucy Hilleart and two grandchildren, Jeff and Mary Jo Sabade. Surviving are sons, Jerry (Linda) Sabade of Okeechobee, FL and Daniel (Christy) Sabade of Mishawaka; two sisters, Victorine Van Der Beke and Jane Mittleman both of Mishawaka; and three grandchildren Amy Sabade, Laurie Adams and Neal Sabade, along with four great grandchildren, Tanner, Brayden, Christian and Autumn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her extended family; Dustin (Lindsey) Hankins and Eric (Jennifer) Gravseth and their respective daughters. Dorothy was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka, the BK Club Ladies Auxiliary and the Rosary Society. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 5 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka.
