Edward A. Zych, 76 years old, passed away at 6:07 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview, IL. Ed was born on June 16, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Henry and Regina (Han) Zych. He has resided in South Bend since 1975, moving from Philadelphia. On February 21, 1970 in St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia, Ed and Patricia Ann “Patti” Burns were united in marriage. Patti preceded him in death on January 28, 2015. Ed has been an attorney since 1975, serving the Michiana Community with his expertise. Ed is survived by his five children, Edward C. Zych of Shelbyville, IN; Jay (Christine) Zych of St. Louis, MO; Kerri (Terri) Shoup-Zych of Indianapolis; Chris Zych of Puerto Rico; and Rhett (Jessica) Zych of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Brendan, Hayden, Zoe, Grayson, Christopher, Alejandro, Hank and Samantha; sister, Marie (Steve) Malek of Blue Bell, PA; and his brother, Henry Zych of Florida. Due to Covid-19, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a future date, to be announced. Ed will be buried in Southlawn Cemetery next to his wife. Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Edward A. Zych may be donated to Christ Child Society, P.O.
