SOUTH BEND - Stella A. Niezgodski, 96, passed away at 4:00 am Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Michiana Health and Rehabilitation Center. Stella was born March 24, 1916 in South Bend to the late Michael and Agnes (Skrytkowski) Hoffman. On November 21, 1940 Stella married Leo Niezgodski; he preceded her in death in August of 1987. Stella was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Lukaszewski; sisters, Sophie Trybinski, Helen Hoffman, Gladys Hoffman & Mary Ann Kominowski; and brothers, Adam and Stanley Hoffman. Survivors include Christine (Thomas Brown) Galwas of South Bend and Barbara (James) Cleary of South Amboy, New Jersey; grandchildren, Laurie, Scott, and Jill Lukaszewski, James (Michaelene Machowiak) Galwas, Jr., Jennifer Galwas, Teri (Tim) Hooley, Scott and Steve Balogh, Sheri Davis and Trina Spainhower; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Stella worked for many years at the South Bend Lunch Room and South Bend Toy. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and a member of the Harvest House; also she was a member of the Hoosier Grandma's Club, she enjoyed cooking for weddings at Z.B Falcon Club and most of all Stella loved to spend time with her family. Visitation for Stella will be held 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday, October 27, 2012 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Entombment will take place in Resurrection Gardens St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, Indiana 46637.
