nee Tafelski
May 24, 1975 - Feb. 4, 2021

MISHAWAKA, IN - Stacy Lee Moreno, 45, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Stacy was born on May 24, 1975, in Kankakee, IL. She is survived by her mom and dad, Linda and Randy Tafelski; her sister, Sheila (Jim) Britton; her caring partner, Charlie Lawrence; nephews, Jimmy (Ashlynn Baczynski) Britton, Justin (Rileigh Linder) Britton, Vaughn Moreno, and Anthony Moreno; niece, Ysabella Moreno, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Stacy graduated from Adams High School in 1993 and received a degree from Saint Mary's College in 1997, matriculating with her mom. She was a member of the Notre Dame Marching Band for four years and attended all of the band reunions with her sister. Stacy worked as the Office Manager in the body shop at Gurley Leep for 20 years. Because of her love of animals, Stacy was a foster mom for Pets Connect for several years. She also volunteered with the John Adams Band program beginning in 2013. She was a valuable asset to the directors, parents, and students throughout the years. Stacy has been one of the most enthusiastic volunteers and supporters of the band. She had a warm, compassionate personality and shared whatever she had with whomever needed it. Her smile could light up a room. The family will receive visitors on Monday, February 8, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN. A Celebration of Stacy's life will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home; Stacy's uncle, Reverend Bruce L. (Shirley) Cadle will officiate. Stacy will be laid to rest in Aroma Park Cemetery in Aroma Park, IL, beside her beloved Grandpa. It gives us comfort to know that she and her Grandpa are reunited. Donations in Stacy's name may be made to Pet Refuge, 4626 South Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614, or to the Adams High School Band program for a plaque to be mounted on the wall in her honor. Due to current public health and safety standards for COVID-19, social distancing will be enforced and masks required.
