Edward Pastryk
1929 - 2020
Edward Pastryk, 90, of Niles, passed away suddenly, of natural causes at his residence on Friday, August 14, 2020. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana on August 19, 1929 to the late John and Julia (Sanchuck) Pastryk. After graduating from High School, Edward served his country proudly in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. After returning from the war, Edward married the love of his life, Eleanora Patton at a ceremony on May 27, 1955 in Angola, Indiana. Edward worked as a millwright for Buchanan Metal Form for over twenty years and after it closed he went on to work for Niles Precision, until his retirement. Edward has enjoyed fishing, traveling and trips to the casino. He and Eleanora enjoyed being snow birds and residing in Mississippi and Arizona to avoid the Michigan winters. Edward was a University of Michigan fan. Most important to Edward, was his love for family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanora Pastryk; a son, Bruce Pastryk and a sister-in-law, Jan Pastryk. Edward leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Debbie Kane of Buchanan, Lisa Pastryk-Balint and her husband, Tom of Niles and Gwen (John) Snyder of Buchanan; Eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brother, Jim Pastryk of New Troy, Michigan. Edward’s wishes are being carried out by his daughters. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens at a private ceremony. Full Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army for Edward’s dedicated and faithful service to his country.
