South Bend - Stephen J. Suth, 80, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Steve was born October 13, 1941 in South Bend, to Stephen and Clementine (Pajakowski) Suth. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Cyril Matthys, Ernest Kish, and Lyle Massing. Left to cherish the memory of Steve is his loving wife of 58 years, Carol (Matthys) Suth; children, Donna (Jerry) Mulligan, Michael (Denise) Suth, Andrew (Mary) Suth, Diane (Thomas) Kolacz, and Michele (Robert) Baranowski; grandchildren, Ryan Evans, Kelly (Eric) Hayden, Joshua Suth, Derek Suth, Brook Suth, Luke Suth, Raymond Suth, Melissa Suth, Emily Kolacz, Justin Kolacz, Michael Wesolowski, Brian Wesolowski, Daniel Wesolowski, Morgan Maenhout, and Eddie Cruz; great-grandchildren, Dylan Hayden, Lilly Hayden, Liam Hayden, Zack Reed, and Edith Mulligan; sisters, Yvonne Kish and Mary Snyder; sisters-in-law, Shirley Massing and Dorothy Matthys; and many dear nieces and nephews. Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always put his family first. Steve was a dedicated and hard-working employee of Hoosier Spring for 40 plus years. He was happiest when he was busy. Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, and doing everything from scratch. In addition to building his family home he created delicious sausage and chili recipes. He was a very giving person. To him food was love and he loved to share his food. Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, May 16, 2022 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 3:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice, Holy Family Catholic Church, Right to Life, or Women's Care Center.
