"Heart Attack Kills Amputee at Limb Office."
Louis Kurz, 57, of 63660 Miami Rd., who lost his leges a year ago, died today of a heart attack while being fitted for artificial limbs at the American Limb Co., 12 1/2 E. LaSalle Ave.
Kurz, taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in a police ambulet, was dead on arrival at 9:30 a.m. He had been under treatment for a heart ailment, authorities said.
Hospital authorities said Kurz lost both legs a year ago in an operation for a bone disease.
His body was taken to the Zahoran Funeral Home.

KURZ - The rosary will be recited at p.m. Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home for Louis F. Kurz, 63660 Miami Rd., who was dead on arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital at 9 a.m. Saturday after suffering a heart attack. He was born in Austria June 14, 1902 and lived in South Bend for 38 years coming here from Austria. On June 11, 1929 in South Bend, he married Miss Martha Tschida. Mr. Kurz was a former employee of the Studebaker-Packard Corp. Surviving are his widow, a son Louis Jr., two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Romwalter of South Bend and Mry Ann at home, two grandchildren; a brother Joseph and a sister, Marie, both in Austria.
Mr. Kurz was a member of St. Stephen's Society at St. Mary's Church, the D.F.V. and the South Bend Manonnerchor (sp.) Club. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today in the funeral home.
