Rev. George H. Szymanowski CSC, 74, died Friday in Resurrection Hospital, Chicago, after a short illness. He was a longtime South Bend priest and assistant at Faith, Hope and Charity Chapel downtown. Fr, Szymanowski lived in Corby Hall on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Services will be at 10:30 Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Leonard V. Banas, CC, religious at Note Dame, will officiate, with Rev. Richasrd Kennedy of the Faith, Hope and Charity Chapel giving the homily. Burial will be in Holy Cross Community Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today in the Moreau Seminary Chapel, where Rev. Richard V. Warner, Holy Cross provincial superior, will preside at a wake at 7:30 p.m. today.
