MISHAWAKA - Dr. Joseph A. Gosztola, 81, of Surprise, AZ, died on December 9, 2015. Born in Mishawaka, IN, in 1934 to Joseph B. Gosztola and Stella (Tribalski) Gosztola, he graduated from Madison Township High School and attended Indiana University where he graduated from the School of Optometry. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. In 1955, he married Ida Siddell and they had three children: Debora Gosztola of Hurst, Texas, David (Mary) Gosztola of Naperville, IL, Devin (Anette) Gosztola of Osceola, IN; and 7 grandchildren. Dr. Gosztola held his practice for 30 years in South Bend, IN, and was a longtime member of both the Madison Township Lions Club as well as the Knights of Columbus, Council 5521.
