SOUTH BEND - Jamie Lynn Przybysz, 39, of South Bend, IN (formerly of Niles, MI) passed away at 2:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 in her home, following an illness. She was born on July 13, 1976 in South Bend, IN to Joseph and Catherine (Rodick) Przybysz and was a lifelong South Bend and Niles area resident. Jamie is survived by her parents, Joseph and Catherine (Rodick) Przybysz of Niles, MI; her sister, Jennifer (Anthony) Millin of Niles, MI; and her nephews, Anthony Jr., Collin, Dustin, and Landon Millin, all of Niles, MI. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Nicholas and Dorothy (Martynowicz) Rodick; and her paternal grandparents, Alex and Dolores (Nowicki) Przybysz. Jamie was known for her adventurous spirit, positive attitude and ability to teach others the importance of communication, especially through interactions of people with disabilities. During high school, Jamie started her journey with Neurofibromatosis II and formed a family bond with the NF2 Crew. In summer of 1993, Jamie participated in the National Science Foundation sponsored NDSETS program at Notre Dame followed by an independent research project at ND. In 1994 she graduated Valedictorian at Brandywine High School. Jamie attended the University of Notre Dame where she completed her Bachelors ('99) and Masters ('02) Degrees in Sociology. She even completed her doctoral coursework and Social Psychology Area Examination, interrupted by the effects of NF to completing the final steps. Her life-dedicated work was her contribution she made to Notre Dame as a student, research assistant, teacher/mentor and most importantly the ultimate fan. Nothing stopped her from attending any Irish home woman's basketball game. Visitation will be from 8:30 9:15 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, University of Notre Dame. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, University of Notre. Burial will follow in Bertrand Bible Church Cemetery in Niles, MI. In lieu of flowers, Jamie requests that you spend quality time with a child.
