SOUTH BEND - Eugene A. Lesicki, 85, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013, at Michiana Health & Rehab. Eugene was born November 1, 1927, in South Bend, to Joseph & Lottie (Kruk) Lesicki. He retired in 1991 from Ivy Tech in South Bend after 25 years of service. On May 27, 1950, Eugene married Jerrie S. Lapczynski, who preceded him in death on May 11, 2005. His sister, Blondine Rogacki, and brothers, Bert, Ed and Dick Sowala, also preceded him in death. Eugene is survived by his son, Dale (Christine) Lesicki of Edwardsburg, MI; grandchildren, Aubrey (Jason Attaman) Lesicki, April Lesicki, Amber (Brenden) Gillen, Aesa (Lindsey) Lesicki; & a great-grandson, Andrew. Eugene was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, (where he took care of the landscaping for many years), ZB Falcons Nest 80, & was an Army veteran. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and a great fan of Notre Dame, the Bears and Cubs. Eugene and Jerrie were known to cut a pretty mean rumba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the Mass.
