SOUTH BEND - Genevieve H. Putek, 84, of Windsor Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died at 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. Mrs. Putek was born on Feb. 20, 1913, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. She retired in May 1972 from the Bendix Corporation. She was married on Oct. 7, 1944, as Genevieve Harlozinski, to John Putek, who survives. She is also survived by a sister, Martha Wegenka of North Liberty, Ind.; a brother, Stanley Harlozinski of South Bend; four nieces, Alice Wierzbicki, Sharon Harlozinski and Barbara Skubiszewski, all of South Bend, and Patricia Hilderbrand of Valrico, Fla.; and by her godson, Stanley Harlozinski, Jr., of South Bend. Mrs. Putek was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, the Bendix Retirees Club and Bendix UAW Local 9. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, where she was a member. Entombment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Adalbert Catholic Church Building Fund.
