SOUTH BEND - Pauline F. Tschida, 90, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in her residence. Pauline was born on January 29, 1924, in Bertrand, Michigan, to George and Louise (Mytyk) Wojcik. She met Bill Tschida while working at RACO. They were married September 11, 1948, at St. Stanislaus Church, Terre Coupe. They had been married 63 years when he died on October 12, 2011. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Cleaver of Granger and JoAnn (Joseph) Goepfrich of South Bend; two sons, John (Gail) Tschida and Jim (Margaret) Tschida, both of South Bend; and sisters-in-law, Dottie Van Paris of South Bend and Joan Tschida of LaPorte. Her life was filled with much joy from her 13 grandchildren, Greg, Patrick (Meaghan) and Tim Cleaver, Susan (Trevor) Gasper, Joseph, Michael, Matthew and Elizabeth Goepfrich, Andy (Danielle) Tschida, Erin (Brad) Fairchild, and David, Ethan and Sarah Tschida. Also 7 great-grandchildren, Siobhan and Seamus Cleaver, Leo, Nicolas and Emma Gasper, and Liam and Drew Tschida. Pauline, a stay-at-home mom, enjoyed her self-taught hobby of cake decorating. She made all of her children's wedding cakes. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents, two brothers, Stanley Wojcik and Steve Wujcik, two sisters, Mary Litka and Dolores Galvas, and son-in-law, Jim Cleaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-8 Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation. The Tschida family would like to thank Dr. Shaya Mokfi and staff as well as the Hospice staff for their loving care of Pauline.
