Ross Catanzarite, 69, of 132 North Main Street, died Thursday night, June 18, 1964 at 7 o'clock in Cornwall General Hospital, where he had been a patient five weeks and one day. He had been in failing health for the past couple of years and had been a patient in Massena Memorial Hospital for a time. He was born in Plati, Italy, April 3, 1895, a son of Mrs. Maria Catanzarite, now over 80 and still living in Plati, and the late Dominick Catanzarite. He attended school in Italy and as a young man, he came to Massena to join cousins who had preceded him to this country. He and Miss Anna Spadafore were married January 3, 1920 in the Sacred Heart Church.
Mr. Catanzarite was employed at Alcoa. He retired when he reached age 65. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish, a member of the Holy Name Society, Italian-American Club and the Alcoa 25-Year Club. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Miss Mary Ann Catanzarite, at home, one son, Dominick Catanzarite, Stoughton Avenue; four grandchildren; his mother and sister in Plati and two brothers in Australia.
