Dale Eugene Nicodemus, 83, of South Bend, passed away at 7:55 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Bremen Healthcare Center. Mr. Nicodemus was born on August 6, 1924 in Mishawaka to the late Verro Philip and Mabel Lourean (Ogle) Nicodemus. He has been a lifelong area resident. On June 2, 1944 in South Bend, he married the former Nina Marie Whittenburg who preceded in death on December 26, 1974. Mr. Nicodemus has been a faithful member of the Apostolic Temple. He retired from Studebaker Corporation. Mr. Nicodemus is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (George) Dickerson of Huntsville, AL; two sons, Philip (Tandy) Nicodemus of Lakeville and David (Glinda) Nicodemus of Edwardsburg, MI; seven grandchildren, Paulette (David) Trueb, Brenda Dickerson, David (Stacy) Nicodemus, Jr., Adam Nicodemus, Jesse (Leah) Nicodemus, Dennis Nicodemus, and Lori (Michael) Baker; ten great grandchildren, Wyatt, Bella, Cory, Max, Sam, Addison, Anthony, Ashlyn, Elizabeth, and Danielle; and one sister, Iris (Bill) Newman of Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Apostolic Temple, 2221 S. Ironwood, South Bend. Rev. Peter and Rev. Paul Rowe will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18th at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend and one hour prior to services in the church on Wednesday.
